The iconic Cinderella Castle at the heart of Magic Kingdom is undergoing a stunning transformation! But is it a magical makeover or a controversial color change?
The latest update reveals that the front of the castle is being repainted, returning to its classic color palette. The once-golden trim around the grand entrance now sports a subtle pale gray, seamlessly blending with the existing gray trim and columns on the stage. But don't worry, the coat of arms above the entrance still shines with its golden glory, and intricate golden details remain around the balcony and clock.
Here's where it gets interesting: the castle's towering spires are taking on a new look. One of the tallest towers has been painted entirely gray, with metallic gold accents around the blue roof and railings, creating a majestic contrast. Another tower stands tall in mostly gray, with a hint of pink on the front, adding a subtle pop of color. These changes are sure to spark conversations among Disney fans and visitors alike.
Aerial photographer bioreconstruct captured the progress in a captivating photo, showcasing the partially painted tower. As we previously reported, the back of the castle has also been transformed, with most of it now a serene gray, and the pink walls behind the blue roofs have been refreshed. The roofing is due for a lighter blue makeover, adding to the overall enchanting aesthetic.
The west side of the castle has seen a dramatic change with a gray wall appearing overnight, and the second tower from the left now features gray trim instead of gold. Even the ramparts between the towers have bid farewell to their golden hue. The east side isn't left out, with freshly painted walls and a small turret joining the gray club.
Even the most hidden areas are receiving attention, as bioreconstruct's photo reveals a turret behind a wall on the east side, now painted gray. It's a true testament to the attention to detail in this project.
For a trip down memory lane, we've included a reference image of the castle in 2019 with its original colors and its 50th-anniversary look in 2021.
And this is the part that sparks debate: What's your take on this grand repainting endeavor? Are you a fan of the classic color revival, or do you prefer a more modern twist? Share your thoughts on social media and join the conversation!
